Ethics, procedures and privacy policy
Both Authors and Reviewers are asked to read the full content of this document and are obliged to comply with the ethical standards described therein.
EDITORS' RESPONSIBILITIES
The responsibility of the editors of the journal ANNALES UNIVERSITATIS PAEDAGOGICAE CRACOVIENSIS. STUDIA LOGOPAEDICA is to maintain a high scientific and ethical standard of the journal. The editors' duties include ensuring that the selected and published works are consistent with the thematic scope of the journal, meet scientific and ethical standards and constitute a significant contribution to research in the field of speech therapy and neurologopedics.
The editors' responsibility includes the initial selection of submitted articles, as well as the final decision to publish the text (after reading the reviews). The editors may refuse to submit an article for external review if, in their opinion, it is not suitable for publication in the journal ANNALES UNIVERSITATIS PAEDAGOGICAE CRACOVIENSIS. STUDIA LOGOPAEDICA.
All decisions should be made by the editors in an objective manner, the assessment must result from the scientific and ethical quality of the reviewed work, and cannot take into account gender, sexual orientation, religion, nationality, race, professional or scientific position, affiliation or political views of the author of the article.
Conflict of interest - Editors must disclose any personal, professional, financial or any other relationships that may influence their conduct or judgments.
Confidentiality - editors ANNALES UNIVERSITATIS PAEDAGOGICAE CRACOVIENSIS. STUDIA LOGOPAEDICA is obliged to keep the entire publishing process (decision, review) confidential. The editors do not share or use texts submitted for review without the written consent of the author. Similarly, editors keep information about reviewers and correspondence with them confidential.
Review procedure – editors are responsible for organizing an efficient, timely, fair and impartial review procedure. The selection of reviewers is based solely on ethics and scientific experience. Editors are obliged to take actions to prevent unethical behavior.
ETHICAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND GUIDELINES FOR AUTHORS
Submitted texts must be original materials, not previously published anywhere, also in another language version (publication also means placing the text on a website, in a digital repository, etc. in such a way that everyone has access to it) and cannot be the subject of qualification procedure in other journals. If a violation of this rule is found, the editorial office reserves the right to withdraw from cooperation with a given author.
Authors must ensure that the work they submit is completely original. Authors assume full responsibility for any case of plagiarism, regardless of whether it is detected during the review process or after publication in the journal. The author undertakes to disclose any possible conflicts of interest related to the published text.
By submitting the text for consideration, the author agrees that in the event of its publication, material copyrights pass to the journal publisher.
List of authors – the list of authors of a given text should include all (and only those) people who made a significant contribution to the concept, methodology and conduct of the research described in it. You should also disclose (e.g. in the form of acknowledgments) the names of other people who contributed to the publication but are not listed as authors. This is intended to prevent unreliable scientific practices, which include ghostwriting (i.e. hiding people who contributed to the creation of the text) and guest authorship (i.e. listing as authors people who contributed only slightly to the creation of the publication or did not contribute at all your contribution to it). The article cannot be printed until authorship issues have been resolved to the satisfaction of all concerned. The editors do not undertake to resolve any disputes between co-authors on this issue.
The author should provide (in a footnote) information about the sources of financing for a given publication, such as national and international grants, subsidies from foundations, associations or commercial institutions.
Issues regarding publishing ethics, including issues of (co-)authorship, possible plagiarism, duplicate or redundant publications, will be resolved in accordance with the procedures of COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics).
The author agrees that after publication, the publisher, retaining full material copyright, makes the content available free of charge via the journal's website.
The publisher does not agree to make files with the final version of articles available in other places, for example on the authors' home pages, on social networking sites, institutional repositories, etc. However, bibliographic descriptions of the texts, along with links, can be posted there.
If the Author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in the work submitted and published by "Studia Logopaedica", the error or inaccuracy should be reported to the editors.
ETHICAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND GUIDELINES FOR REVIEWERS
Reviewers can only review articles that relate to their knowledge and competences necessary to conduct a proper assessment. If the reviewer does not feel competent to perform the review or knows that he will not be able to meet the deadline, he is obliged to immediately notify the Editorial Team.
After accepting the article for review, reviewers are obliged to prepare a review within 6 weeks at the latest.
Reviewers are obliged to use the review sheet provided by the Editorial Team and write all reviews in Polish or English, as well as attach comments on the originality and scientific/research value of the article, its purpose, methodology, results achieved, polemics, references and the quality of the scientific language .
When accepting a text for review, reviewers assume an obligation of confidentiality. They also cannot use any part of the content of the peer-reviewed text for future research because the text has not yet been published.
The main task of reviewers is to objectively assess the quality of the submitted text and to criticize it constructively.
Reviewers are obliged to inform editors whenever they find similarities between the reviewed text and another article published or submitted for publication in another journal. Reviewers are also obliged to inform the Editorial Team about the existence of a conflict of interests related to the published text.
PROCEDURES FOR RESOLVING UNETHICAL ACTIONS
The editorial team treats all allegations regarding ethics as a priority and very seriously
All ethical allegations are taken seriously and fully investigated. Any ethical abuses will be treated in accordance with the good practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
Minor offenses will be dealt with without the need for in-depth consultation. The authors will have the opportunity to respond to any allegations and provide a reasonable explanation.
Serious misconduct may require the defendant's employers to be informed. Editors, in consultation with the publisher, must decide whether to engage employers or examine the available evidence themselves or consult with additional experts.
Where the editors have clear evidence that: the findings presented in the publication are unreliable; the findings were the result of misconduct or inadvertent error; the findings have been previously published elsewhere without appropriate reference, consent or justification; the published material constitutes plagiarism or contains unethical research, etc. - published materials will be withdrawn in accordance with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) (http://publicationethics.org/resources/guidelines).
